RCSFDM SIGNS MOA IN POZZORUBIO FOR “Expanded” MSU MISSION

.
The club is on a fast start. The day following the District Induction on July 4, 2009, President Mar Reyes, spouse and IPP Chit Reyes of the IWC SFDM and IPP Allan Asi, the MSU Administrator traveled to Pozzorubio spending their Sunday to promote and prepare for the club’s “expanded” MSU Mission, the first during this rotary year. They were met by Club Director Nonoy Desamito and spouse Cindy, the Municipal Mayor Emma T. Chan, her husband who was the former mayor, local Jaycees, the President of the RC of Urdaneta East, Tony Fernandez and Rev. Father Pol Calicdan of St. Joseph Thaddeus Parish.

After some pleasantries and introductions, the parties immediately signed a Memorandum of Agreement at the Municipal Mayor’s Office, to hold an MSU mission, with medical, dental, deworming and free legal clinic on July 25-26, 2009 in Pozzorubio. RC SFDM was represented by President Mar, Mayor Emma T. Chan, represented the local government unit, Engr. Joel Desamito, the Municipal Engineer represented the Heirs of the late Julio Desamito and Rev. Father Pol Calicdan, represented the parish pastoral council, Pozzorubio “Redwell” Jaycees, the RC of Urdaneta East and the Pozzorubio High School Classes of 1978 and 1980.

In the evening of July 25, 2009, during dinner fellowship to be hosted by the RC Urdaneta East, RC SFDM will sign a Sisterhood Agreement with the hosts, which will be the third for RC SFDM in this new rotary year.
The mission, the first during President Mar’s term, promises to be a big and exciting one, with a large number of beneficiaries for the 2-day activity. A lot of partners in service are involved.

The resources of the Office of the Mayor, the local church, Jaycees, the RC Urdaneta East and High School Alumni Associations, with the help of various Urdaneta East and High School Alumni Associations, with the help of various Urdaneta donors, like PCSO and the family of the late Julio Desamito have been mobilized and will be used to ensure a successful mission. Food and accommodations and fellowships have been planned. The clubmen and spouses are eager and raring to begin another year of fruitful service above self.

For those who do not know him, the late Julio Desamito was the father of Director Nonoy. He was a Rotarian and a past president of the RC Cubao East. He was a former Comelec Commissioner and an Alphan who was serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Alpha Phi Beta Chancery, Inc. at the time of his death, during the term of President Mar as the Lord Chancellor. The mission is also dedicated to his memory as a public servant.
